Entry 6: Dahi Bread by Sushma Garikipati


Ingredients:

bread-2 slices,

low fat curd-1 cup,

salt-acc to taste,

sugar-1/2 spoon(optional),

chaat masala(optional).

for tempering:

cumin,

mustard seeds,

curry leaves,

turmeric,

green chillies-2,

urad dal.

for garnish:

grated carrot,

grated coconut(optional),

oil-1 spoon.

Method:

1.Beat the curd and add very little amount of water.Add salt and sugar and keep it aside.

2.Heat oil in a pan and put all the ingredients for tempering.Add this to the curd mixture.

3.Take the bread slices and fry on the pan on both sides till light brown or a little hard without oil.

4.Take the bread slices on the serving plate one beside other.

5.Pour on the curd mixture on the bread slices and sprinkle chaat masala on the top.

6.Garnish with grated carrot n coconut.

Note:The curd mixture can be prepared earlier but the bread should be done just before eating else it will become saggy.Also the curd should be poured on the bread just before eating.
